Is US Customer Service Really the Best?

Louise Marsland details on this latest post on that her overall experience of airline customer service was superb. She details that the world’s view of customer service in North America is that of disgust and rudeness, even though she did not encounter any of these feelings as she lists everything that customer agents did to comfort her when her flight was delayed over 18 hours.

Is the customer service experience really that different overseas? How does your company’s customer service in the US compare to customer service offered abroad?

Wow. Louise, I am so happy for you. While I can't say I have the same experience while traveling the country, I'm glad you did. And I'm glad you are telling everyone about it.

I wonder how much of it had to do with you. Besides your cute accent, it's possible that you held a state of mind and a way of being that had people wanting to help you. Last week in my tip I wrote about getting better service.

I am wondering if there was a difference in the way that YOU behaved that brought out the best in the people that came in contact with you.

It's an interesting notion, yes?

Thanks for saying such wonderful things about American air travel. It's refreshing to see that someone appreciates us.

I hope to see you at the conference in CA.
